About

Born in Australia but raised in the UK, the resulting conflict of allegiance manifested a lifelong interrogation of the self and a need to use emotional expression as a form of identity.  However, it wasn’t until the desire to reclaim my space post motherhood led me to pursue a degree in Art History that I discovered a passion for sculpture – an artistic expression that engages both sight and touch but requires no words.

Since then I have produced a wide range of works, both abstract and classical, inspired by my personal responses to the human experience and the world around us.  My sculptures range from reassuringly weighty animal heads through to bold representations of the body and mind, which aim to stimulate and provoke audiences from the inside out.

Due to its malleability, I find working with clay a wholly satisfying process, not only because of the tactile nature of the medium but also the ability to play with light and shadow, achieving different results and responses depending on the position from which it is viewed. I work from my private studio in London where I sculpt, fire and glaze each of my pieces individually by hand and as such each piece is an original.
